What is NextStar 120 used for?
Structural foundation cracks over 1/2", pipe penetrations, and large void fill — always used with carbon fiber to carry tension. For non-structural leaking cracks, use 102 or 103.
Does 120 need water or moisture to work?
No. It's a two-part hydrophobic foam that expands without added moisture, making it ideal for dry cracks and pipe penetrations.
Is 120 a structural repair on its own?
No. 120 has no tensile strength by itself — it fills the crack and resists compression. Pair it with carbon fiber staples, stitches, straps, or fabric to handle tension. Together, the repair can exceed epoxy alone.
How does 120 compare to epoxy?
Because 120 expands, it uses about half the material of epoxy on large cracks, so foam plus carbon fiber often costs less than an all-epoxy repair while matching or exceeding its strength. For smaller structural cracks, epoxy is often still the better choice.
How much does 120 expand?
Up to about 6 times its original volume. Expansion is moisture-dependent, so it varies with the conditions in the crack.
When can I apply carbon fiber after injecting?
120 cures fast — carbon fiber reinforcement can usually go on as soon as about 10 minutes after injection.
What comes in a NextStar 120 tube set?
A dual 300mL (22 oz) 1:1 tube set with the retaining nut and a 3/8 x 24 static mixer included. An air-powered injection tool is recommended.
