ROADWARE MATCHCRETE™ CLEAR
Roadware MatchCrete™ Clear is a two-component aliphatic polyurethane for repairing cracks, spalls, and joints in concrete subject to UV exposure from sunlight. This material is clear in appearance when applied and cured. Colored sand and pigments may be added to create color-stable repairs that match almost any decorative or shade of concrete surface. MCC will not significantly change color with exposure to sunlight over time.

ROADWARE MATCHCRETE™ CLEAR Question and Answers
-
How to use Matchcrete Clear for concrete and exposed aggregate in driveways and repair.
-
Q. Why use Roadware Matchcrete Clear for exposed aggregate repair?
A. Matchcrete Clear is the only product on the market that is UV stable, meaning it will not yellow over time if the concrete repair is used outside. Matchcrete Clear can be used to bond and replace missing stones and sand in the exposed aggregate to hide the repair completely.
-
-
Q. Can I mix Matchcrete Clear in small batches to do a detailed repair?
A. Yes, you can dispense small but equal parts into a mixing cup mix by hand and pour out for detailed repairs.
-
Q. Can I use Matchcrete Clear to repair stamped concrete floors and slabs that are colored?
A. Yes, you can use sanded or non-sanded colored tile grout mixed into the Matchcrete to achieve the desired finish color.
-
Q. Can I use Matchcrete Clear to repair cracked or broken terrazzo floors?
A. Yes, the process is similar to stamped concrete floor repair except that you would use non-sanded grout and any stones that match the floor color. The standard floor multi-grit grinding and polish over the repair area.
-
Q. Is Matchcrete similar to Roadware 10-minute mender and work in the cold?
A. No, with MATCHCRETE™ we do not recommend using in freezing temperatures as it may take too long to cure correctly and thus affect the bond.
-
Q. I have used up my spare static mixer tube provided with the Matchcrete Clear Cartridge. How do I mix the product without the mixer?
A. This is no problem. You can dispense equal parts into a mixing cup and mix by hand with a stir stick, or the A/B components can be put into separate measurement cups to be dispensed into equal parts into a new mixing cup. Try not to mix more than 100ml until you are familiar with this method. Stir only fast enough not to introduce air bubbles into the mix.
-
Q. How long can I Keep Roadware Matchcrete Clear in storage?
A. If unopened, the product will be good for one year from the purchase date. Still, it may be shorter for a partially used tube because of possible cross-contamination in a dual cartridge. Bulk containers are not a problem in pint, quart, and gallon containers. Still, it is not advisable to use any old product.
-
Q. What is the best way to fix small cracks in an exposed aggregate driveway?
A. It will require that you groove out the small concrete cracks with a turbo diamond blade and have matching colored sand that can be sprinkled over the Matchcrete. A few matching small stones will help blend. We recommend testing only a small area to make sure that it will blend after cure.
-
Q. How dry does the exposed aggregate or stamped concrete need to be before repair?
A. The Driveway or exterior concrete needs to be dry or, if it has rained, wait so that any cracks are not wet. Moisture will make the repaired area turn white.
ROADWARE MATCHCRETE™ CLEAR Tips
- 1. MATCHCRETE™ CLEAR when applied to concrete gives the concrete or sand added to it the wet look and it will stay that way. Unlike if you get concrete wet with water, it turns darker but changes after it dries out. So it is imperative that you test to ensure that the cured color matches what you desired in the concrete repair.
- 2. Warming the Roadware Matchcrete will help thin the product a little and speed up the initial gel time.
3. In very large depth and wide cracks, we recommend using regular Roadware 10-minute mender for repair for all but the last ¼”, or 5mm near the surface. This will allow for a better bond to the existing concrete due to 10-minute mender’s very low viscosity, but recommend using the Matchcrete for the top surface and UV stability. It is important that the surface of the 10-minute mender be left rough or treated with a sprinkle of sand so the ROADWARE MATCHCRETE™ CLEAR bonds correctly.
